The Lifetime Achievement Award is ISIR’s highest honor, reserved for individuals who have, over their professional lifetime, substantially advanced the field of intelligence. The 2007 awardee  was Professor Douglas K. Detterman. Doug researches intelligence and mental retardation. A professor at  Case Western Reserve University, he founded the journal Intelligence, and remains editor in chief. He also founded this society and was its President until 2011.
