Great new post-doc with Texas Twin Project!

A Postdoctoral Research position is available at the University of Texas at Austin under the supervision of Dr. Elliot Tucker-Drob and Dr. Paige Harden. The candidate will primarily work on the Texas Twin Project, which is currently funded by a 5-year R01 grant from NICHD. The Texas Twin Project is a multi-disciplinary study of an ethnically and socioeconomically diverse sample of child and adolescent twins, with a specific focus on understanding how biological stress influences the development of executive functioning, cognitive abilities, and academic achievement. In addition to analyzing psychological data in twins, the fellow will develop expertise in the collection and analysis of hormonal biomarkers (e.g., hair, saliva samples), and will have the opportunity to learn and integrate sociological methods (e.g., analysis of U.S. Census data). Additional research for the Texas Twin Project examines personality, psychopathology, and risk-taking. The successful candidate will, therefore, have the opportunity to analyze a rich and unique dataset and to publish high impact articles in the areas of cognitive development, developmental psychopathology, personality development, and behavioral genetics. In addition to having completed a doctoral degree in a relevant subject, qualified applicants will have a strong quantitative background and expertise in one or more of the following areas: (i) behavioral genetics, (ii) molecular genetics, (iii) neuroendocrine research, (iv) differential psychology, and/or (v) quantitative methods. The position is available January 2017 (earlier and later start dates are negotiable) and includes benefits. The position is for 2 years with the option for renewal.
