Future Meetings

Annual ISIR meetings are typically held around the end of July, alternating between the United States and the rest of the world. We are delighted to announce our next two destinations: San Antonio, Texas in 2027 and Copenhagen, Denmark in 2028.

2027 · USA

San Antonio, Texas

27th Annual ISIR Conference · San Antonio River Walk · July 2027

WhenJuly 2027—conference opens Tuesday 6 or 13 July (exact dates to be confirmed)
WhereHotel and conference venue directly on the famous River Walk (e.g. Marriott or Hyatt)
FormatIMC Preconference on Wednesday, then three ISIR days with posters, banquet and business meeting

Practically everything is within strolling distance of the River Walk: the Alamo, the Spanish colonial missions of San Antonio Missions National Historical Park, the galleries of La Villita, Historic Market Square, and the panoramic Tower of the Americas. A little farther out are the Pearl district, the San Antonio Zoo and botanical gardens, Hill Country day trips to Fredericksburg and Gruene, and the classic Texas summer pastime of tubing the Guadalupe River. Expect world-class barbecue, genuine Texas hospitality—and air conditioning absolutely everywhere.

Copenhagen pairs a compact, wonderfully bikeable centre—more than 390 km of dedicated cycling infrastructure—with one of the world’s leading culinary scenes. For intelligence researchers the city holds a special draw: Denmark’s nationwide, individually linkable registries, including intelligence test scores from conscription board examinations, are available for research and have powered decades of landmark studies.
