Keynote speakers
Anna-Lena Schubert (Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz) leads the Analysis and Modeling of Complex Data group and works at the intersection of cognitive psychology, psychometrics, and cognitive neuroscience. Her research focuses on improving the measurement and modeling of neurocognitive processes related to intelligence, including work linking brain rhythms and EEG-derived indicators to individual differences in cognitive ability.
Adam Chuderski (Jagiellonian University) is Head of the Department of Cognitive Science. His research examines the neurocognitive mechanisms of relational reasoning, problem solving, working memory, and cognitive control, drawing on behavioral experimentation alongside computational and psychometric modeling and neurocognitive methods.
Maciej Karwowski (University of Wrocław) is a leading researcher in the psychology of creativity, with additional interests in measurement and methodology. He directs the Creative Behavior Lab and has published extensively on creative potential and performance, including work on “creative agency” and how beliefs about creativity shape creative behavior.
Distinguished Interviewee
Stephen J. Ceci (Cornell University) is a developmental psychologist whose work spans cognitive development, intelligence, and the scientific study of children’s memory and testimony in legal contexts. His research has been influential in bridging basic psychological science with real-world policy and courtroom practice.
Lifetime Achievement Award lecture
Randy Engle (Georgia Institute of Technology) is widely known for foundational work on working memory capacity and attentional control and their role in higher-order cognition and fluid intelligence. Across decades of research, he helped shape contemporary theories and measurement approaches linking executive attention to reasoning and performance in complex tasks.
Holden Memorial Address for Distinguished Journalism
The Holden Memorial Address for Distinguished Journalism will be given by Steve Ayan. The Holden award honors a journalist or writer
whose work has significantly contributed to public dissemination of the science of human intelligence. Steve Ayan is a psychologist and science journalist and former editor of Spektrum: Gehirn & Geist (Mind & Brain). His work focuses on neuropsychology, consciousness research, and cognitive science. He is also the author of several popular science books on psychology.
IMC welcome event
Terrie E. Moffitt and Avshalom Caspi (Duke University and King’s College London) are internationally recognized for research in developmental psychopathology and longitudinal life-course science.
